Porirua mayor thrilled at $204m infrastructure funding

The mayor of Porirua is breathing a sigh of relief with central government agreeing to chip in to major infrastructure upgrades.

The government has announced an extra $204 million will be invested into Porirua infrastructure to allow more housing to be built.

Housing minister Megan Woods says it will allow 744 new homes, which include replacing 186 old Kāinga Ora homes.
