Despite an increase in the number of police, the organisation has seen drops almost across the board in its performance measures released in its Annual Report.
The Annual Report lists the police's priorities, goals and performance, with specific objectives for things like clearance rates for sexual assault complaints, family violence reoffending, burglaries, and road policing.
The report shows worsening statistics in most categories in the report.
While Covid-19 has had an impact, the report also admits resources are often pulled away from certain areas, such as burglaries, to crimes deemed more serious and urgent.
Police deputy commissioner Jevon McSkimming spoke to Corin Dann.
