The Reserve Bank governor has admitted the bank is deliberately engineering a recession to rein in inflation. So how will the economic decline next year compare with some of the grim recessions New Zealand has experienced before? ANZ's Chief Economist Sharon Zollner reckons it will be "shallow" recession, but an unavoidable one.
