Sir Murray Halberg, one of our greatest athletes who has died at the age of 89, has died.
After a running career that included Olympic glory in 1960, two Commonwealth Games gold medals and four world records, Halberg became better known for his philanthropic work.
In 1963 he founded what is now known as the Halberg Foundation - aimed at helping physically disabled children participate in sport and recreation.
Former squash great and life trustee of the Halberg Foundation Dame Susan Devoy spoke to Guyon Espiner.
