Construction on the world's largest scientific instrument - a telescope - has begun.
The Square Kilometere Array Observatory is a network of radio antenna spread across two continents - Australia and South Africa - and will take about six years to complete.
It's goals are modest - to address some of the major outstanding questions in astrophysics.
