The Government has started offering rapid payments to historical abuse-in-care claimants.
The payments are for those who are seriously ill, who are aged over 70 or who have waited the longest to get their claims considered.
Survivors who don't meet the fast track criteria will have to wait until the government's new redress programme is up and running.
However, it is not yet clear when that will be.
