The Green Party is urging the government to tax wealthy New Zealanders more to help raise extra revenue with a recession on the horizon.
Finance Minister Grant Robertson yesterday confirmed a "shallow recession" is expected for the latter half of 2023.
Green Party finance spokesperson Julie Anne Genter says the government will only constrain itself further if it doesn't change tax rates for the wealthiest New Zealanders.
It's also disappointed with moves to end half price public transport at the end of March, saying the policy could help to build a greener future.
Genter spoke to Corin Dann.
