A shearing record which has gone unchallenged for more than a decade will be up for grabs twice in three days in the central North Island this week.
On Tuesday, 19 year-old Reuben Alabaster is going to attempt to break the eight hour strong-wool lamb shearing record of 744.
Jack Fagan is going to attempt the same record on Thursday.
Shearing Sports New Zealand chairman Sir David Fagan has been flatstick organising the events.
