Mega-company Amazon has asked the Prime Minister for a leg-up over billion-dollar data centres it's building here, and to have input on policy.
An OIA response from Jacinda Ardern's office contains correspondence between her, and several of the dozen data centre companies setting up here.
Amazon Web Services is at the forefront.
For instance it asks Ms Ardern to appoint an "empowered" minister or senior officials to help it with getting a consent on time, to discuss bringing in skilled IT workers from overseas, and to 'fine tune' policy.
