Tourism Operators Failing at Cleaniness

Tourism operators are frustrated to see cruise ships failing to meet the standard of cleanliness required to enter their ports.

Four cruise ships have been found in breach of standards since December, due to algae and barnacles on their hulls.

The latest is the Queen Elizabeth, which is having to skip visits to Fiordland and Dunedin to undergo a second hull cleaning, pulling the rug out from under the hospitality and tourism businesses expecting them.
