Annual construction costs are continuing to soar even as activity in the sector is slowing.
CoreLogic's latest Cordell Construction Cost Index, which is released today, shows the cost of building an average house in the last quarter of 2023 was up 10.4% on the previous year.
But CoreLogic also says its latest numbers suggest the start of a slowdown in building, even if the industry looks set to deal with labour problems for some time yet.
CoreLogic's head of research, Nick Goodall, spoke to Charlotte Cook.
