Northern part of Coromandel Peninsula cut off

The northern part of the Coromandel Peninsula remains cut off, due to slips and flooding caused by the torrential rain. People are asked to avoid travelling if they can. State Highway 25 is closed in several places - between Coromandel and Whitianga; and Waiomu to Tapu. It's also closed due on State Highway 25A between Kopu and Hikuai due to further cracks developing at a large washout location.
