Auckland has been pummeled with rain after a storm system passed Northland overnight.
A red rain warning was in place for Orewa North until 8am on Wednesday and in Auckland, an Orange warning was in place until 10am, with the Bay of Plenty and Coromandel set to bear the brunt of the rain later in the day.
