Physical assaults on children by Oranga Tamariki staff have jumped by 250 percent in two years, according to a report from the organisation's own safety-in-care unit.
The report, released yesterday, claimed Oranga Tamariki had also made it easier for children to complain and they had better access to independent people to talk to.
However, an independent watchdog at the+ very same time, reported that Oranga Tamariki has been getting slower, not faster, at investigating complaints.
