Thousands are expected to return to the far north with Waitangi Day festivities set to go ahead for the first time in two years.
The Prime Minister and government ministers are due to meet with iwi leaders from around the country on Friday, where they'll be challenged on their record delivering for Māori.
Issues likely to be raised include climate change and te taiao, co-governance and constitutional arrangements, and the cost of living for whānau.
