There's confirmation this morning Cyclone Gabrielle could affect Northland on Sunday before moving south towards Auckland.
The category one cyclone is currently in the Coral Sea and is likely to become a category three over the next 24 hours.
If it reaches us it will be an intense weather system, with heavy rain, gale force winds and significant sea swells.
