Hundreds of Napier residents have hit the road for Hastings to take advantage of electricity in the nearby city.
Last night, power company Unison said there were still more than 31,000 disconnected homes in Napier.
The city has been hit by a loss of supply from Transpower's Redclyffe substation - and Transpower says there's no quick fix.
