People are still being evacuated from Piha on Auckland's west coast, with the land dangerous and unstable days after the storm.
Road and phone access is back but the seaside community is without power, and many are without a home.
In nearby Karekare, ten people have been evacuated by helicopter as the settlement heads for its fifth day in isolation.
