There has been an increase in family harm incidents reported to police since Cyclone Gabrielle hit.
The Police Commissioner Andrew Coster says reports of dishonesty offences are actually fewer than normal.
Coster says 60 people have been arrested in Tai Rāwhiti and Hawke's Bay since the Cyclone hit.
