The national state of emergency has been extended for another seven days, so government agencies can provide additional resources as they are needed.
The declaration applies to Northland, Auckland, Tairawhiti, Bay of Plenty, Waikato, Hawke's Bay and Tararua. A lead minister will be appointed for each of these regions.
