With power out across the East Coast and Hawke's Bay this past week, the traditional Kiwi gas-power barbecue has been something of a lifeline for people.
A good example was in Wairoa on Thursday, when a barbecue was delivered to the town by the Defence Force, who then fed more than three-thousand people.
