Census day has wrapped up and Stats NZ is hoping it was the most inclusive national head count to date, after the last one in 2018 had the lowest response rate in 50 years.
The statistics agency says more than two-million people had completed their forms by 9., but it won't have further updates until later this morning.
Some people in downtown Auckland were leaving it till the last minute, while others - particularly migrants - say they've been left out.
