The Green Party is calling for immediate action to tax banks for any excess profits they make.
Green Party revenue spokesperson Chlöe Swarbrick says the Australian banks are making roughly 20-percent more in New Zealand than they do in Australia, and a 10-percent tax on their excess profits would be appropriate.
