A group of flood affected residents in West Auckland has sent an open letter to the council asking for immediate rates relief.
The letter says many families can't live in their homes anymore, and with the significant pressures they already face they're calling for rates relief.
West Auckland Is Flooding spokesperson Morgan Allen spoke to Corin Dann.
Morning Report asked to speak to deputy mayor Desley Simpson this morning but she had a prior engagement.
However a spokesperson says the Auckland Council will hold a special governing body meeting next Thursday to discuss the subject of rates relief.
They say that was the earliest opportunity for council to discuss the issue.
