Hundreds of thousands of school students will have the day off next Thursday as teachers and principals across the country strike for more money.
As many as 50,000 teachers and principals from kindergartens and primary and secondary schools are taking industrial action after rejecting the latest pay offer from the Ministry of Education.
The primary teachers union - the NZEI - says the rising cost of living, staffing numbers, and school and kindergarten funding all need addressing.
