Schools in Auckland and Wellington will suffer the biggest losses as school rolls fall in the next ten years.
Education Ministry projections show the Wellington region's school populations could fall 11 percent or just over 8707 children by 2032, and Auckland could have 13,000 fewer pupils.
The estimates show Canterbury will be the only region with more school children by 2032.
