Commonwealth Games bronze medal winner Zane Robertson has been banned from all sport for eight years after testing positive for a performance enhancing drug, and then providing false documentation in his defence.
A long-distance runner, Zane Robertson trained out of Kenya, but returned a positive sample for EPO in Manchester in May last year.
A second sample then also came back positive for EPO.
He got a four year ban for the drug use, and a further four years for Tampering with Doping Control - providing fraudulent documents in an attempt to explain his drug use.
Drug Free Sport New Zealand chief executive Nick Paterson spoke to Kim Hill.
