A report into how cancer patients in the Southern District are treated shows health authorities were more concerned about saving money, than those who needed life saving treatment.
The highly critical report by the Health and Disability Commission found many serious shortcomings including some cancer patients in Otago and Southland being told they couldn't see a cancer specialist until after they were disgnosed to die.
