A 10 year old is in hospital this morning after being trapped and crushed under a log at a Gisborne beach at the weekend.
Juliana Marston, who was on holiday from Christchurch, has fractured her pelvis in two places after being pinned under what her family say was large forestry log when it rolled in the waves.
She's nursing the injuries at Gisborne Hospital, but her family say the damage could have been much worse.
