An Auckland councillor says the mayor and the chief executive need to have a better relationship.
A review of the council's flood response found that the communication between key leaders was lacking.
Manukau Ward Councillor Alf Filipaina told Morning Report he's confident that the mayor and chief executive will improve their relationship, because it is essential.
He said he appreciated seeing recently-resigned chief executive Jim Stabback take responsibility for his role in the response.
Filipaina says he looks forward to the review's 17 recommendations being implemented.
