The delays to changes around secondary students' assessments - NCEA - has the National Party saying it proves the current education policies aren't working.
Yesterday the government announced its plans for NCEA Level 1 will go ahead next year, but the new Level 2 won't kick in until 2026, and the changes to Level 3 won't be brought in until the year after that.
National says it's a panicked response from the Labour Party after trials showed many students found the new assessments too hard.
Their education spokesperson Erica Stanford spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
