The head of the Financial Services Council says providers would never ask a person to get a DNA test before approving their medical insurance.
A study released last week found genetic discrimination, and was critical of insurance companies.
But Richard Klipin says life and health insurance companies have strict guidelines on genetic testing.
He spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
