Pacific leaders, including New Zealand's Prime Minister, are in Port Moresby for a visit to Papua New Guinea by the US Secretary of State and the Premier of India.
America's top diplomat, Antony Blinken, touches down with his delegation today for a bilateral meeting with Papua New Guinea and then separate meetings with Pacific Islands Forum leaders.
Prime Minister Chris Hipkins will also have the opportunity to meet with his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi.
Josie Pagani is a former executive director of the Pacific-focussed Council for International Development, and also works in the region on projects funded by the Bill Gates Foundation.
