The Prime Minister, Chris Hipkins, returned from his trip to Papua New Guinea this morning where he met with leaders from the Indo-Pacific region, the United States Secretary of State and the Indian Prime Minister.
The United States and Papua New Guinea signed a Defence Cooperation Agreement at the summit, allowing the US almost unfettered access to PNG airspace and territorial waters.
And Chris Hipkins had a sit down meeting with Indian prime minister Narendra Modi, in which they discussed ways to improve trade and commerce between the two nations.
Mr Hipkins spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss about his trip.
