The effects of the weather were felt beyond Te Tai Rāwhiti this weekend.
In the Coromandel, five people in two cars and a campervan had to spend the night in their vehicles, when they became trapped by two slips on State Highway 25.
Part of that road has been completely washed out, and is closed between Kopu and Hikuai until further notice.
