Roads on the East Coast have taken a major hit from the weekend's torrential rain.
There've been closures across Te Tai Rāwhiti with slips, floods and washouts leaving some communities cut off.
State Highway 2 north of Gisborne city is closed with major cracks in the road at Otoko.
And there is flooding, slips, dropouts and silt on State Highway 35 on the coast, and on many local roads.
State Highway 35 was closed overnight.
And it's not over yet - with parts of the network extremely vulnerable, there's more rain on the way this evening.
