Ruapehu will keep it's doors open for skiers this winter, with the government agreeing to front $5 million to ensure the ski season can go ahead, despite the ownership of the fields still being undecided.
The funding will be paid to the liquidators of Ruapehu Alpine Lifts, after creditors failed to agree on a new operator.
It comes just days out from the expected start of the ski season.
