Monday July the 3rd was the hottest day ever recorded globally.
The average global temperature reached 17.01 degrees Celsius, exceeding the previous record of 16.92, which was set in August 2016.
This comes as the southern United States, parts of China and North Africa are all suffering under intense heat.
The high temperatures align with scientists' expectations from climate change and an emerging El Niño pattern.
