Police bosses are praising the heroic efforts of the officers who pulled passengers out of a burning car wreck in Hamilton early on Sunday morning.
Two people died on the scene when a speeding car collided with a truck as it was pulling into a supermarket in Whitiora.
The officers suffered smoke inhalation, but the two people they rescued are in critical condition in hospital.
