Prime Minister Chris Hipkins arrived in Lithuania this morning for the NATO Leader's Summit.
Leaders from other Indo-Pacific partner countries, including Australia, Japan and South Korea, are also in attendance.
The invites come amid increasing interest in the region. According to Robert Patman, a professor of international relations at the University of Otago, this interest can be attributed to economic opportunities and security concerns, amid China's growing assertiveness.
