Transport agency Waka Kotahi has banned the Te Huia train from entering central Auckland city after train drivers twice ran red lights in the last three weeks.
An immediate prohibition notice was issued on the Hamilton to Auckland service following the incidents.
Passengers must now stop at Papakura on Auckland's southern outskirts and catch a replacement bus to and from the city.
