It's supermarket workers' turn to begin negotiations for a Fair Pay Agreement.
Currently Countdown staff earn the living wage, while independent supermarkets only pay their teams minimum wage.
First Union is given legal authority as the negotiating agency for both union and non-union members, advocating for approximately thirty-thousand workers across the country.
Union president Robert Reid says these essential workers have been historically undervalued and underpaid.
