Despite severe disruption, Stats NZ say between 89 and 91 percent of New Zealanders took part in this year's Census, meaning they either reached - or almost reached - their goal of 90 percent participation.
The original deadline for the survey's return was March 7, but this was extended for cyclone-affected areas to June 1.
