Waiheke residents took to their kayaks with placards yesterday to protest against expensive ferry fares.
An adult return fare at peak hours is $59.
Fullers declined to come on the programme this morning but in a statement says there are a variety of cheaper fares available including monthly and FlexiPasses.
Waiheke Local Board acting chair Bianca Ranson says the commercially operated Fullers ferry service is crippling the community.
