The battle of the big Auckland roading projects has plunged to another level.
Labour is proposing a pair of three-lane tunnels for traffic, and another for trains, under Auckland Harbour at a cost of roughly $45 billion.
The rail tunnel would connect the central city's Wynyard Quarter to six new train stations all the way to Albany.
But the business case, and the details on the project's climate impacts, are still to come.
Transport Minister David Parker spoke to Corin Dann.
