The mental health system is broken and is making patients sicker than they were to begin with.
That's according to child psychiatrist and chair of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP), Dr Hiran Thabrew.
The College study published Tuesday in the Australia NZ Journal of Psychiatry found 94 percent of the workforce say they're under-resourced and that the system is not fit for purpose.
Thabrew spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
