Triumphant and dejected MPs, along with their leaders, are making their way back to Parliament, as National starts to put plans in place to form a new government.
National's campaign chair Chris Bishop says the party is delighted with its performance, but he expects some electorates will "flip back to Labour" once the special votes are counted.
