Rents in New Zealand have gone up 6.1 percent since last year, almost double the long-term average growth rate of 3.2 percent.
Property research firm CoreLogic also says national property values are up, and so was the number of properties sold in October.
CoreLogic chief property economist Kelvin Davidson spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
