Some Auckland councillors say the mayor Wayne Brown is proposing to strip the city's assets to create his multi-billion-dollar Auckland Future Fund.
The fund would made up of money from leasing the city's port operations, and a "proposed contribution of the Auckland International Airport (AIA) shares".
Brown says having the fund would take disaster proof income streams for the council.
