Gisborne residents, groups and businesses which went above and beyond during the aftermath of Cyclone Gabrielle this time last year have been honoured in a special ceremony.
The Gisborne Super Hero Awards took place Thursday night, at the War Memorial Theatre.
There were dozens of stories, lots of laughs and a few tears.
